Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintains proficiency in deposit operations tasks including monitoring, reconciliations, item processing, and account management.
- Ensures proper documentation and CIP information are received and imaged during new account set ups and changes.
- Oversight of customer address changes, flag management, and error recognition.
- Updates W-8 statuses, requests updates, and tracks exceptions to CIP requirements.
- Reviews and updates new account and new product documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Monitors and processes returned mail, updating systems accordingly.
- Scans and indexes documentation for easy access.
- Supports deposit operations staff with daily processing and project assignments.
- Reconciles internal accounts and balances cash for locations.
- Handles phone calls professionally, processes incoming and outgoing mail, and processes transactions through item processing.
- Manages exception items like chargebacks, NSFs, and returns.
- Monitors reports for compliance with processes and procedures.
- Performs foreign item processing and completes research requests and verifications.
- Performs DDA and CIF maintenance as requested.
Other Duties/Responsibilities
- Completes internal teller and new accounts training.
- Completes Principles of Banking class.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with state and federal banking regulations and Alpine Bank policies and procedures.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe.
- Strong detail orientation and multi-tasking skills.
- Evaluates and prioritizes workflow in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Ability to navigate the cold storage system.
Education Or Formal Training
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) equivalency.
Experience
- One (1) year related experience in an Operations Specialist role or training in Alpine Bank or other banking environment.
Working Conditions
- Professional office environment.
- Uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
- Sedentary role with occasional filing and bending/standing on a stool.
- Close, distance, color vision, and ability to adjust focus required.
- Lifts up to 25 pounds.
Starting Rate of Pay
From $17.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending on experience.
