About the role

The job is for a Department Manager at a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee, not McDonald’s USA. This franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from McDonald’s USA. The franchisee is responsible for employment matters at the restaurant, including hiring, firing, discipline, supervising, staffing, and scheduling employees.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts every week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, friendly experience.
• Manage assigned Systems, such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management.
• Set goals, delegate tasks to teams, follow up, and report results.
• Ensure Crew and Managers deliver a great customer experience.
• Manage Sales Promotions and ensure service staff are trained in service procedures.
• Organize Front Counter McCafé and Drive-Thru areas for the best service.
• Ensure the restaurant delivers great quality food to customers, and fast, with food safety maintained.
• Control food costs and train kitchen staff in production procedures, including new items added to the menu.
• Hire qualified crew, train them well, and schedule them to meet restaurant sales and profit goals.
• Support Crew getting off to a good start and recognizing and motivating them throughout their time working there.

Requirements

• Previous managerial experience, preferably within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.
• Positive team player with flexible schedules and a passion for the fast-paced McDonald’s environment.
• Must be 18 years or older to be a manager in corporate-owned and operated restaurants.
