Department Manager

About the role

This job posting is for a Department Manager position in a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee, not McDonald’s USA.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts every week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, friendly experience.
• Manage assigned Systems such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management.
• Set goals, delegate tasks, follow up, and report results to your team and other managers.
• Ensure the Guest Service Department delivers a great customer experience.
• Oversee sales promotions and ensure service staff are trained in service procedures.
• Organize the Front Counter McCafé and Drive-Thru areas for optimal service.
• Ensure the Kitchen Department delivers high-quality food and fast service, while controlling food costs.
• Train kitchen staff in production procedures, including new menu items.
• Hire, train, and schedule crew members to meet sales and profit goals.
• Support crew members in getting off to a good start and recognizing and motivating them throughout their time working there.

Requirements

Previous managerial experience is preferred, ideally within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.

We are looking for positive team players with flexible schedules who enjoy working in the fast-paced McDonald’s environment.
