Department Manager
About the role
The Gillis Organization owns and operates McDonald's Restaurant Franchises in Bergen, Monmouth, Middlesex and Ocean County in New Jersey. Our focus is to enhance the customer experience by providing excellent service with golden standard quality products while making our patrons and employees feel welcomed, valued, and appreciated.
Responsibilities
- Lead weekly shifts, ensuring customers get a fast, accurate, friendly experience every visit.
- Manage assigned Systems such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management.
- Set goals, delegate tasks, follow up, and report results to your team and other managers.
- For the Guest Service Department Manager: Ensure Crew and Managers deliver a great customer experience, that sales promotions are done well, that all service staff is trained in service procedures, and that the Front Counter McCafé and Drive-Thru areas are organized for the best service.
- For the Kitchen Department Manager: Ensure the restaurant delivers great quality food to customers fast, that food is always safe, that food cost is controlled, and that all kitchen staff is trained in production procedures, including new items added to the menu.
- For the People Department Manager: Ensure the restaurant hires a qualified crew, trains them well, and schedules them to meet restaurant sales and profit goals. Also ensure the team gets off to a good start at the restaurant and is recognized and motivated throughout their time.
Requirements
- Managerial experience is preferred within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.
- Positive team player with flexible schedules who likes to have fun and is passionate about working in the famously fast-paced McDonald's environment.
Qualifications
- An associate degree is highly recommended.
- Mcdonald's Department Manager Capstone or Higher is required.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $18.50 to $23.00 an hour starting salary, depending on experience and the volume of the locations! Plus, Monthly Bonus Opportunities are based on the performance matrix. In addition to your base pay, the Gillis Organization offers a program called Accelerate Your Pay (AYP).
