Department Manager

About the role

This job posting is for a Department Manager position at a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee, not McDonald’s USA.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts every week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, and friendly experience.

• Manage assigned Systems such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management.

• Set goals, delegate tasks, follow up, and report results to your team and other managers.

• Ensure the Guest Service Department delivers a great customer experience.

• Oversee sales promotions and ensure service staff are trained in service procedures.

• Organize the Front Counter McCafé and Drive-Thru areas for optimal service.

• Ensure the Kitchen Department delivers high-quality food and fast service while maintaining food safety and controlling food costs.

• Train kitchen staff in production procedures, including new menu items.

• Hire, train, and schedule crew members to meet sales and profit goals.

• Support new employees and motivate current staff throughout their tenure.

Requirements

Previous managerial experience is preferred, ideally within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.

Positive team player with flexible schedules and a passion for working in the fast-paced McDonald’s environment.

Must be 18 years or older to apply.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Skills

• Strong leadership and management skills.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

• Knowledge of food safety and inventory management principles.

• Experience with employee training and development.
