Duties

• Deliver dental care, including preventive care, to patients at a State correctional facility.
• Participate in performance management activities to continuously improve the Dental Program.
• Delegate appropriate levels of responsibility to the Supervising Dental Assistant, CF, Dental Assistant, CF, and Dental Hygienist, CF and be responsible for the quality of their work.
• Maintain order and supervise the conduct of the incarcerated and protect and maintain the safety of persons and property.

Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must hold a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from an accredited dental school and be licensed to practice dentistry in the State of California. Applicants must also have a minimum of two years of experience in a correctional setting or equivalent experience.

Benefits

The position is a limited term position which may be extended or become permanent. The salary does not reflect recent changes due to the implementation of the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025).

The salary for this position is commensurate with experience.
