Description

SUMMARY: Diagnoses and treats diseases, injuries and malformations of teeth and gums and related oral structures. Examines patient to determine nature of condition, utilizing x-rays, dental instruments, and other diagnostic procedures. Cleans, fills, extracts, and replaces teeth using rotary and hand instruments, dental appliances, medications, and surgical implements. Provides preventive dental services to patient, such as applications of fluoride and sealants to teeth, and education in oral and dental hygiene.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Bachelor’s Degree and successful completion of an accredited DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) or DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) program
• Must be licensed to work in the state of Idaho
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Description Of Duties

• Examine patients' teeth and gums using dental equipment and X-rays
• Diagnose dental conditions and plan oral health care in consultation with patients
• Clean teeth and cavities and provide preventive care
• Repair decayed and broken teeth by placement of various filling materials and when necessary, extract and replace teeth

• Perform surgical operations to the mouth, jaws, teeth and related structures
