Dental Patient Services Specialist

About the role

MyCHN is a nonprofit healthcare organization serving the Greater Houston and Gulf Coast region with over 100 providers across 20+ locations, committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to underserved communities. We are looking for a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Dental Patient Service Specialist to join our team at MyCHN Technology. This role is the welcoming face of our dental practice, assisting patients throughout their visit and ensuring smooth front-office operations.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist patients throughout their dental visit
• Schedule, confirm, and prepare patient appointments
• Maintain accurate patient records in OpenEMR
• Verify insurance coverage and collect patient payments
• Provide Good Faith Estimates and explain financial responsibilities
• Answer incoming calls and assist patients with inquiries
• Coordinate with dental providers and clinical staff to ensure smooth operations
• Deliver exceptional customer service both in person and over the phone
• Support the front office in achieving an outstanding patient experience

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 1 year of dental front office experience
• Knowledge of dental scheduling and insurance verification
• Experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment
• Professional, positive, and patient-focused attitude

Preferred

• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Experience with OpenEMR
• Knowledge of Good Faith Estimates and patient financial counseling
