Dental Assistant Team Leader
About the Role
Big Smiles Missouri, a school-based mobile dental practice, is seeking a Dental Assistant/Expanded Functions Dental Assistant Team Lead in St. Louis, MO and surrounding areas. This full-time role provides dental care to underserved children at their schools, offering a unique work environment with a schedule that aligns with school hours—no nights or weekends. Responsibilities
- Provide dental assisting services during mobile dental clinics.
- Perform digital X-ray imaging and patient charting.
- Set up, break down, and sterilize equipment.
- Travel daily to and from school sites.
- Drive company vehicle (Team Lead responsibility).
- Order supplies, sterilize instruments, and conduct spore testing.
- Manage back-office duties and maintain the van and equipment in good condition.
- Meet deadlines, arrive on time, and maintain punctuality.
- Communicate effectively with adults and children.
Requirements
- X-ray License.
- Digital X-ray imaging experience.
- CPR certified.
- Work experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel.
- Ability to work well with children.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
- Team player with the ability to work on a small team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Coronal polishing (preferred, not required).
- For Team Lead: Must be at least 21 years old and have a clean driving record.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
