Delivery Coordinator
About the role
The Delivery Coordinator (Delco) plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely delivery of products and maintaining clear communication with Customer Service Representatives and the Delivery Assurance Manager.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and direct internal and external customer orders through the manufacturing process.
- Respond to delivery-related and product-related inquiries as needed, including direct communication with plant operations, shipping, and quality.
- Daily engage with the Delivery Assurance Manager to identify delivery risks, barriers, and status.
- Identify and participate in resolution of process flow routes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Maintain delivery schedules to ensure timely completion, communicate clear and timely status through tools to upstream customers.
- Work closely with site operations to ensure stable workflow of orders, priorities, and stock management.
- Schedule production at some sites, using site scheduling tools to set clear schedules, adhering to capacity and specific site limitations.
- Collaborate with the Master Schedulers, Materials Managers, and Central Planning Manager to ensure timely release and correct flow of production orders.
- Participate in cross-functional discussions in delivery clinics to identify root cause and prioritize corrective actions.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or high school equivalency preferred, or a minimum of 4 years’ customer service experience in aerospace manufacturing or closely related industry with a Bachelor's degree preferred.
- An Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college in business, engineering, or materials management required.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of process flows, lead times, and lean principles.
- Technical skills and understanding of machinery and shop floor terminology.
- Experience with Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Access software is desired.
- Practical problem-solving and decision-making abilities using analytical skills.
- Effective communication, customer relationship building, and practical problem-solving skills.
