Deductions Analyst

About the role

The Deduction Specialist is responsible for deduction resolution, problem solving, and researching discrepancies with payments from customers. This position will also assist the Accounting department with projects as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage and analyze deductions and short payments on invoices paid
• Perform weekly calls to customers and brokers for deduction documents
• Ensure all outstanding deductions are researched and resolved
• Analyze information to process incomplete payments from customers
• Complete and process approved credits
• Handle all follow up with freight carriers on outstanding freight claims
• Aid with account receivables functions when needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
• Basic Accounting experience with Deductions and Cash Application
• Proficient with Excel, MS Word, and Outlook
• Strong communications skills both verbally and written
• Great customer service skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with speed and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
