Decision Support Administrator

Position: Power BI Developer Location: Tallahassee, Florida Duration: 8 Months plus Job Summary Design and Develop Analytic Solutions: Create, secure, and operationalize Power BI and Azure Synapse Analytics solutions using Department Enterprise Data Warehouse and related systems. Model and Report Development: Build star schema tabular models, DAX measures, KPIs, and user-centric Power BI reports/dashboards; implement Power Query/M transformations and support paginated reporting as needed. Data Governance and Security: Enforce Row Level Security (RLS), Object Level Security (OLS), and workspace governance per CJIS, HIPAA, and agency policies; manage permissions and document access controls. Compliance and Audit: Ensure solutions meet regulatory, audit, and data retention requirements; maintain audit logs, data refresh auditing, and compliance documentation. Performance Optimization: Optimize datasets, relationships, and measures to ensure high performance and adherence to SLAs; monitor and improve report and data refresh times. Deployment and DevOps: Use Power BI Deployment Pipelines and Azure DevOps for version control, environment promotion, automation, and CI/CD; manage secrets and incident/change management processes. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with data owners, analysts, PMO, InfoSec, and super users to translate business needs into governed analytics; provide coaching and knowledge transfer. Documentation and Best Practices: Maintain comprehensive documentation (models, DAX, SOPs, security matrices); publish governance guides and contribute to enterprise data catalog and SharePoint knowledge bases. Qualifications Bachelor s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years business intelligence/analytics experience, 3+ years enterprise Power BI development Advanced DAX, Power Query/M, SQL, and tabular modeling skills Strong experience in regulated environments (CJIS, HIPAA) Experience with Azure DevOps, deployment pipelines, and GCC environments Must pass Level II Background Check and complete Security Awareness Training Preferred: Microsoft BI certifications, Azure Synapse experience, knowledge of Microsoft Purview, and expertise in data governance and performance engineering..
