Summary/Objectives

The Senior Debt Capital Markets Specialist I is responsible for processing securities transactions accurately and efficiently, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Functions

  • Provides extraordinary customer service through various means of communication
  • Accurately processes securities transactions through various systems, including account setup, security issue setup, trade tickets, settlements, payments of principal/interest, and pledging
  • Leverages technology and resources to perform various functions efficiently, such as communications, recordkeeping, and reporting
  • Independently researches and resolves issues
  • Shares knowledge with team members to strengthen understanding of processes, controls, and regulatory requirements
  • Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of securities and processing, as well as a general understanding of other division services
  • Ensures compliance with Bank's policies, procedures, code of conduct, and regulatory guidelines
  • Assists other employees through healthy and positive interactions
  • Engages in marketing efforts and seeks opportunities for skill improvement through cross-training

Competencies

  • Proficient with general office machines and programs, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software relevant to the department
  • Good knowledge of business English, including spelling and punctuation
  • Well-organized, accurate, and attentive to detail
  • Cooperative and willing to assist coworkers and customers on a regular basis
  • Effective listening skills, demonstrating the ability to listen, understand, and contribute based on others' points
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to function well under pressure

Qualifications, Education, And Certification Requirements

  • Minimum High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to three years related experience and/or training
  • No specific certifications required
  • Annual compliance training and New Employee Orientation

Physical Demands

  • A large amount of time spent in front of a computer
  • Requires constant data entry through or on a computer or answering a phone throughout most of an eight-hour shift

Work Environment

  • Telecommuting roles require a secure home office environment with no background noise and distractions
  • A reliable private internet connection, preferably cable or fiber

Travel

  • May be required to travel for meetings, conferences, or training as needed
