Position Overview
This position supports distribution center initiatives, in conjunction with Inventory Control and non-Inventory Control related activities targeted to improve shrinkage, performance and cost savings initiatives. This position will directly impact the organization by partnering with multiple levels of the organization to drive, communicate, and execute million dollar initiatives for Burlington Stores. This position plays a key role in SOX compliance and inventory accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Develops a thorough knowledge of internal department and external operational SOP’s and best practices
- Ensures operational members are accurately following SOPs
- Performs thorough audits and documents investigation methods and issues affecting inventory while performing root cause analysis
- Communicates (written and/or verbal) recommendations and engages the appropriate levels of management in the Supply Chain to assist with the escalation of items needing immediate attention
- Works with IT, POC, DC OPs, Finance and other work groups for assistance in research and problem solving
- Analyzes and reports systemic and operational issues to prevent situations that could result in the loss of company assets in a timely manner
- Plays a key role in projects related to inventory movement and cost savings initiatives
- Ensures all key functions and reports, as assigned, related to inventory transactions are monitored consistently, accurately, and timely
- Cross trains frequently on operational procedures
- Interacts confidently and accurately with all levels of management
- Completes timely inventory adjustments as directed
- Audits and conducts operational research in order to identify receiving errors and reduce shrink
Qualifications
- Education: BA / BS preferred
- Licenses/Certification/Registration: Ability to become certified on DC equipment as needed
- Experience: 1+ year Analyst, Inspection, Inventory Control or related distribution center / retail experience preferred
- Experience: 1+ year experience with WMS (Warehouse Management System) and sortation system (Dematic) preferred
- Experience: Experience in a high volume Distribution environment preferred
- Computer Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Excel, Work and Outlook
- Organizational and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and follow-through skills
- Math and Problem Solving: Excellent math and problem-solving skills including root cause analysis
- Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and as part of a high-performance team
- Flexibility: Ability to remain flexible to shifting priorities
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work on site and remotely
- Ability to travel to all Distribution Centers and Warehouses
- Ability to sit at computer researching for long periods of time
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Standing / bending / lifting throughout the work day
- Frequent exposure to dust, high levels of noise and moving machinery
