Day Program Support Specialist

About the role

New Point Life Services is seeking Community Day Support Specialists to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities build life skills, participate in community activities, and achieve greater independence.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support based on each person's Individual Support Plan (ISP)
• Aid individuals in developing daily living, communication, and social skills
• Lead and participate in community outings, recreational activities, and volunteer opportunities
• Encourage independence, self-confidence, and informed decision-making
• Assist with personal care and mobility when needed
• Prepare meals and support healthy daily routines
• Administer medications following agency policies
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation and daily service records
• Ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment at all times
• Build positive relationships with individuals, families, coworkers, and community partners

Qualifications

• Preferred High School Diploma or GED
• One year of experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
• Active Virginia CNA, NA, or PCA certification
