Day Program Specialist

About the role

The Day Program Specialist is responsible for providing support and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities in a community-based setting.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in daily activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication management.
• Facilitate social interactions and recreational activities to promote independence and quality of life.
• Assist in the development and implementation of individualized service plans.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of services provided.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance professional skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of developmental disabilities and best practices in community support.

Skills

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
