Responsibilities
- Work as part of the Operations team, whose primary responsibility is the maintenance and upkeep of the data center infrastructure.
- Perform server rack installation, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, rackdown recovery, and responding to emergent situations that affect operational stability.
- Serve as the primary contact point for both internal customers (Network Engineers, Systems Engineers, Software Developers, Database Engineers, Technical Operations) and external service partners (Hardware Vendors, Contractors, Service Providers among others).
- Work and meet service level agreements against assigned trouble tickets via a directed workflow.
- Be the first line touch point for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues, which involves regular server hardware repairs (drives, motherboards, etc.).
- Carry out routine network, server hardware, and operating system related repairs.
- Contribute to the availability of the AWS service catalogue for external customers.
Requirements
- High school or equivalent diploma, or A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+.
- Current, active TS/SCI US Government Security Clearance.
- Position may include rotating shifts, 3, 4, or 5 day/night work weeks, and may change based on the needs of the business.
- Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
- This position will fill an opening at one of multiple separate sites.
- Candidate selected must be a US citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
Qualifications
- You are a primary resolver for your support team, skilled at troubleshooting one or more operating systems.
- You are able to troubleshoot and solve all but the most complex infrastructure issues.
- Issues are escalated to the appropriate resolver groups when necessary.
- You create and maintain documentation on technologies you support and are able to convey SOPs to junior staff.
- You understand all aspects of the equipment you support.
- You know how to innovate and make decisions on your own, but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved.
- You are able to execute small projects on your own and work with your manager in planning and executing larger local projects.
- You act as an escalation point for junior technicians.
Skills
- 1+ years of Computer Hardware Repair, Infrastructure Cabling, Network Deployment, or Data Center Operations experience (preferred).
Pay
Starting pay range: $33.00 - $58.00 USD hourly. Final starting pay will be based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
