AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

About the role

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop teams of technicians and engineers, providing both technical and leadership expertise to ensure the highest levels of performance.
  • Deliver capacity to existing data centers and help build and bring online new data centers.
  • Continuously improve all processes and procedures.
  • Assist and manage relationships with external vendors and contractors.
  • Liaise with internal teams and management groups.
  • Ensure adherence to and exceed local health and safety standards in all data centers.
  • Create and maintain metrics on all aspects of data centers and utilize those metrics to drive positive changes.
  • Assist in implementing service methodologies including incident management, problem management, change management, and capacity management.

This role supports data centers in various operational stages. The position may be assigned to a facility still under development, which could require travel to established locations for training until your designated site becomes fully operational.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.
  • Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational.
  • Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of assigned facility.
  • Candidates must be able to travel (over 50 miles) or commute (less than 50 miles) to active data center sites as required by business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a management or team lead function.
  • 2+ years of data center experience, or experience in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Networking Engineering).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field (e.g., Computer Science, Network Engineering), or experience in professional or military IT-related roles.
  • 2+ years of data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations experience, or experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
  • Knowledge of networking infrastructure topology certification in a relevant field (CCENT - Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician, Network+, or CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Associate), or A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+.
  • Experience conducting behavioral interviews and hiring.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.

Pay

USA, TX, Wink - $78,400.00 - $137,300.00 USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
