Dairy Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

• Oversight of daily Dairy Department operations to ensure fully stocked and properly merchandised shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Maintenance of inventory levels and assistance with ordering, receiving, stocking, and product replenishment activities.
• Ensuring proper product rotation using first-in, first-out (FIFO) procedures.
• Maintaining department cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards.
• Monitoring out-of-stock conditions and taking corrective action to maximize product availability.
• Executing promotional and seasonal merchandising programs according to company standards.
• Delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive shopping experience.
• Aiding customers with product selection and responding to inquiries in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
• Resolving customer concerns promptly and effectively.
• Promoting department sales through product knowledge and customer engagement.
• Supervision, training, coaching, and development of Dairy associates.
• Assigning and monitoring daily work activities to achieve operational goals.
• Fostering a positive, productive, and customer-focused work environment.
• Supporting associate development and performance management initiatives.
• Communicating department priorities, expectations, and company programs effectively.
• Maintaining all dairy products to meet company freshness, quality, and presentation standards.
• Monitoring product dates and removing unsellable merchandise promptly.
• Assisting with inventory control procedures and shrink reduction efforts.
• Maintaining accurate inventory and receiving practices.
• Supporting department initiatives that improve product availability and operational efficiency.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety regulations.
• Maintaining proper temperature controls and storage procedures for all dairy products.
• Ensuring associates adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Completing required operational and food safety documentation accurately.
• Supporting achievement of department sales, labor, shrink, and profitability goals.
• Monitoring department performance and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Managing inventory levels and controlling expenses.
• Assisting with merchandising initiatives designed to increase sales and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, hospitality management, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a retail or foodservice environment. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Knowledge of FIFO procedures and product quality standards. Familiarity with inventory control and shrink reduction techniques. Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Food safety certification preferred.
