Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction in assigned courses in accordance with the master course syllabus, stated learning outcomes, and departmental guidelines.
• Prepare and maintain course syllabi, develop instructional materials, and design assessments that promote student learning.
• Engage students through active and inclusive teaching strategies, provide timely feedback, and foster a supportive classroom environment.
• Teach in a variety of instructional modalities (in-person, online, hybrid, or hyflex).
• Teach on different days and at various times, including evenings and weekends, depending on departmental needs.
• Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently while maintaining accurate records of grades and attendance.
• Support students through appropriate and accessible means of communication outside of class times.
• Participate in required orientation sessions, professional development, or departmental training.

Qualifications

• Required Minimum Degree Expectations: Masters Degree in Anthropology, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Journalism, Political Science, Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or other related field.
• Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience teaching post-secondary experience, experience with media, evolving instructional technologies, and distance learning programs, teaching philosophy that aligns with the DACC mission and values, bilingual competence in English and Spanish (considered an asset).
