Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction in assigned courses in accordance with the master course syllabus, stated learning outcomes, and departmental guidelines.
• Prepare and maintain course syllabi, develop instructional materials, and design assessments that promote student learning.
• Engage students through active and inclusive teaching strategies, provide timely feedback, and foster a supportive classroom environment.
• Teach in a variety of instructional modalities including in-person, online, hybrid, or hyflex.
• Teach on different days and at various times, including evenings and weekends, depending on departmental needs.
• Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently while maintaining accurate records of grades and attendance.
• Support students through appropriate and accessible means of communication outside of class times.
• Participate in required orientation sessions, professional development, or departmental training.

Qualifications

• Required Minimum Degree Expectations: Master of Arts in English (Professional and Technical Communication, Rhetoric, or Literature), or Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing.
• Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience teaching post-secondary experience, experience with media, evolving instructional technologies, and distance learning programs, teaching philosophy that aligns with the DACC mission and values, bilingual competence in English and Spanish, TESOL certification.
