About the role
The Customer Solutions Specialist is the central point of coordination between Territory Sales Managers, engineering teams, distributors, contractors, and consulting partners. This role advances opportunities through the sales process and delivers exceptional customer support by identifying qualified projects, maintaining accurate data, coordinating technical deliverables, and reducing customer response times.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Territory Sales Managers (TSMs) to identify and qualify project-based sales opportunities using online bid resources and market information.
- Evaluate opportunities submitted through distributors and contractors, developing project-specific action plans to move them through the sales pipeline.
- Support TSMs from initial qualification through project execution, ensuring success at every stage.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project information within the CRM system, including status, probability, timelines, and shipment dates.
- Coordinate project activities with drafting, engineering, and internal support teams to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
- Review technical deliverables, drawings, and project documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate on pricing strategies and support the development of budgetary and formal quotations.
- Ensure customers and sales partners receive timely and accurate project information and technical deliverables.
- Review civil construction plans and specifications to understand project requirements and provide technical recommendations.
- Act as a liaison between customers, sales personnel, engineers, and internal stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.
- Engage with distributors, contractors, engineering firms, consultants, regulators, and other project partners to foster collaboration.
- Provide responsive communication and support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain competitor and market intelligence databases to drive continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to optimize processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Contribute ideas that enhance customer experience and support business growth.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in a related field, such as commercial/civil construction, manufacturing, project coordination, estimating, customer solutions, or inside sales.
- Experience supporting project-based work from opportunity identification through project completion.
- Ability to understand and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment while supporting teams operating in Eastern Time.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of related industry experience.
- Civil construction, estimating, engineering, project coordination, or construction management experience.
- Experience working with CRM systems and project tracking tools.
- Familiarity with project quoting, construction bidding processes, and technical sales support.
