Custodian (TS/SCI Clearance Required)

About the role

Active (or ability to obtain and maintain) TS/SCI clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum, mop, dust mop, sweep, and scrub floors
• Empty waste containers and deliver collected refuse to the loading dock
• Perform restroom cleaning and checks
• Clean water fountains, fitness centers, showers, and locker rooms
• Clean freight and passenger elevators
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors at prescribed heights
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
• Shampoo carpets and strip, seal, finish, and polish floors
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners
• Police grounds and empty waste containers
• Assist in special events setups
• Monitor building for maintenance, safety, and security issues and report violations to supervisor or management
• Maintain custodial equipment in clean, safe, operable condition
• Report shortages of supplies and equipment failures to supervisor or management
• Perform other related work as assigned

Requirements

• A combination of education and directly related experience equal to one (1) year; some locations may have additional or different qualifications
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
• Active (or ability to obtain and maintain) TS/SCI clearance or higher
• Valid driver’s license
• Proven experience as a custodian, janitor, or in a similar role
• Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
• Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
• Familiarity with basic landscaping and handyman practices
• Attention to detail and conscientiousness
• Very good physical condition and strength

Pay

Salary range: $40,000.00 - $66,000.00
