Custodian (Full-Time)

About the role

Responsible for cleaning and routine maintenance of district buildings to ensure a safe learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning tasks (floors, windows, walls, fixtures)
• Handle minor repairs (carpentry, plumbing, electrical)
• Set up for events
• Manage recycling
• Monitor safety and cleanliness of buildings
• Respond to maintenance issues
• Support safety drills and emergencies
• Act as Facility Manager in their absence
• Collaborate with staff and coordinate vendor services
• Ensure proper stock of supplies
• Train or assist colleagues as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years relevant experience preferred, including floor maintenance skills
• Strong communication, problem-solving, dependability, attention to detail, adaptability, and teamwork skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and climbing
• Capable of operating cleaning equipment
• Able to work while standing, walking, and seeing/hearing clearly

Schedule

May work day or evening shifts.
