Custodian (Full-Time, Day Shift)

The Thomas Jefferson Foundation is seeking enthusiastic applicants for the position of Custodian. The Foundation preserves Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson, and engages audiences with Jefferson's world and ideas. The position involves performing consistent cleaning and sanitizing services at assigned locations and occasionally supporting special projects and events. Duties include spending time outdoors, walking uphill and on uneven terrain, and interacting with guests. No prior experience is required, but a satisfactory work record and driver's license are necessary. The position offers a competitive compensation of $16.50 per hour, along with benefits including a 401(k) retirement savings plan with a 6% match, life insurance, and an Employee Assistance Program.

• Compensation: $16.50 per hour
• Skills & Abilities:
  • Possess a courteous, friendly, and professional demeanor
  • Good communication skills
  • Follow instruction and work independently
  • Able to operate vacuum cleaners and other standard cleaning equipment
  • Must be able to lift or maneuver up to 25 lbs
