Location: Tullahoma, TN – Department of Correction, Coffee County

Full-time position with a monthly salary range of $2,896.00 - $4,331.00 (annually $34,752.00 - $51,972.00). A Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) screening and criminal background check are required.

Overview

Under general supervision, this role involves supervisory custodial work of average difficulty, overseeing a moderate-sized custodial staff either as a subordinate to a higher-level custodial supervisor in a large organization or as the chief custodian in a smaller team. This is the first full supervisory level in the Custodial Worker sub-series, differing from the Custodial Worker 2 (lead worker) and Custodial Worker Supervisor 2 (larger staff supervision) roles.

Qualifications

• Experience equivalent to two years of increasingly responsible full-time custodial work, including at least one year in a lead capacity.
• Completion of a criminal history disclosure form and agreement to release records to the appointing authority.
• Submission of a fingerprint sample for a TBI-based criminal history records check.
• Review of status on the Department of Health's vulnerable persons registry (for positions within the Division of Rehabilitation Services).

Responsibilities

• Assigns, trains, supervises, and evaluates a moderate-sized custodial staff.
• Counsels subordinates on work-related issues and conducts performance evaluations.
• Enforces workplace rules, such as dress code and conduct policies.
• Maintains records and reports, including biohazard, laundry, linen, and related documentation.
• Completes requisitions and work requests for supplies and equipment repairs.
• Performs general custodial duties as needed.
• Recommends human resources actions (promotions, demotions, transfers, suspensions, or retention) and interviews applicants.
• Keeps time and attendance records for employees.
