Location: Greeneville, TN – Department of Disability and Aging (DDA), East TN Regional Office. Full-time position with a monthly salary of $2,349.00 - $2,934.00 ($28,188.00 - $35,208.00 annually). A Motor Vehicle Records screening and criminal background check will be conducted prior to employment.

Qualifications

• Experience equivalent to one year of full-time custodial work.
• Must complete a criminal history disclosure form and agree to release all criminal records to the appointing authority.
• Must supply a fingerprint sample for a TBI-based criminal history records check.
• Must submit to a review of status on the Department of Health’s vulnerable persons registry.

Overview

Under general supervision, performs custodial work of average difficulty, including leading others. This is the lead class in the Custodial Worker sub-series, responsible for overseeing a small team of custodial workers at a facility. May be assigned to any shift.

Responsibilities

• Operates custodial tools and equipment, including floor washing machines, buffers, and vacuums.
• Moves furniture.
• Leads or performs sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and buffing floors by hand or machine.
• Cleans restrooms by sanitizing toilets, sinks, and showers; washing floors and walls; cleaning mirrors; and emptying trash.
• Cleans offices, hospital facilities, state park inns, cabins, or other facilities by dusting furniture, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, washing walls and windows, emptying trash, and straightening work areas.
• Polices grounds to pick up trash and check for maintenance needs.
• Keeps simple records and makes routine reports of facility deficiencies and materials needed.
• Performs light maintenance of equipment.
