Job Duties
- Supervision, Leadership, Scheduling & Performance Management: Provide direct supervision, leadership, and support to the custodial staff, including scheduling, assigning work, monitoring performance, and conducting annual performance evaluations.
- Event Coordination, Setups & Customer Service: Coordinate custodial support and building setups for campus events, conferences, and special activities, ensuring timely and effective service. Collaborate with Facilities and Campus Services leadership and other campus departments to support College operations and provide exceptional customer service.
- Training, Safety, Inspections and Regulatory Compliance: Plan, organize, and facilitate regular staff meetings and training sessions focused on custodial best practices, safety procedures, chemical handling, equipment operation, and professional development. Ensure all campus facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, sanitary, and aesthetically pleasing condition in accordance with College standards and applicable regulations. Serve as the department’s Safety Coordinator by promoting a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other applicable safety requirements, conducting safety training, and monitoring the proper use of chemicals, equipment, and personal protective equipment. Inspect facilities regularly to ensure quality standards are met and identify areas requiring corrective action or additional attention.
- Hands-on Custodial Work, Snow Removal and Special Projects: Participate in snow and ice removal operations by coordinating personnel, supervising response efforts, and working alongside custodial staff to ensure campus sidewalks, entrances, and other designated areas remain safe and accessible during winter weather events. Respond to facility emergencies and provide after-hours support as needed. Assist with custodial duties during periods of increased workload, staffing shortages, or special projects.
- Inventory, Equipment Management & Administrative Duties: Maintain inventory of custodial supplies and equipment, recommending purchases and ensuring resources are available to support daily operations. Perform other duties as assigned in support of Facilities and Campus Services.
