Curriculum Development Specialist - SMS-3824

Responsibilities

• Administer educational content and cases, computer, audio and video tools, clinical resources (faculty, labs, activities)
• Train students in clerkship-related clinical skills, basic clinical skills
• Develop patient problem simulations for presentation in various formats
• Design, develop, and administer clinical case and other performance-based assessments
• Locate patient cases appropriate for clinical case development
• Perform medical edit of case simulations
• Serve as a mentor and advisor to assigned students
• Participate in small group sessions for assigned students as appropriate
• Serve as liaison between faculty and the Associate Dean for Education and Curriculum in case development activities
• Serve as a faculty resource and liaison between offsite and on-site faculty
• Serve as a liaison between faculty, students and the Associate Dean for Education and Curriculum with regards to ongoing departmental research projects
• Conduct seminar facilitator orientations as needed

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in a health care profession and 7 years of clinical experience with educational responsibility
• Background or experience with medical data retrieval
• Background or experience in conducting clinical and/or educational research
• Knowledge of educational theory and methodology
• Good organizational skills and good problem-solving ability
• Ability to work in close association with clinical and basic science faculty
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience in the clinical medicine setting
• Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations
