About the role
Perform a variety of duties in order to provide food to patients, visitors and staff in a safe and courteous manner focusing on retail food operations.
Responsibilities
- Wait on customers in a courteous manner, prepare food and rings sales on sale system.
- Regular, consistent, on-site, and timely attendance.
- Food Sanitation and Safety: Practice good hygiene, wear hair restraints and personal hygiene, use gloves, report equipment malfunctions or unsafe work conditions, dispose of garbage correctly and safely.
- Food Storage: Store food safely and in proper locations, utilize FIFO, inform supervisor of inventory, follow HACCP guidelines.
- Food Preparation: Prepare food according to recipes, measure by appearance, taste and temperature, portion size, maintain production records, follow cooking techniques, perform simple math calculations, operate cooking equipment, stock inventory for next day.
- Cash Handling: Ensure appropriate charges, operate cash register, notify supervisor of discrepancies, document sales, serve food efficiently and cooperatively, demonstrate customer skills.
- Food Receiving: Receive and unload food items, alert supervisor to discrepancies, store items in proper locations, check expiration dates, notify supervisor of expired items, return empty boxes to proper trash location.
- Food Utility: Perform routine cleaning, report equipment malfunctions or unsafe work conditions, dispose of garbage correctly and safely.
- Other Duties: Perform routine tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education.
- Food Service Experience.
- Cash Handling Certification & Clearances Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system.
Qualifications
- Safe Certification License.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
