About the role
The position is responsible for all aspects of accounts receivable for the Veterinary Health Center. This role will evaluate client accounts, accept payments, reconcile cash drawers and receipts, and assist clients with any account needs. The position will also work directly with the business manager to resolve client queries or problematic situations, including nonpayment, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
Days will vary week to week (working 5 days a week) 3pm to midnight.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient accounts to ensure all transactions have posted
- Accept payments (cash, credit card, check, CareCredit) from clients
- Calculate and return change when required by the payment method
- Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change as needed
- Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts at required points and end of shift
- Review and correct the Daily Payment Report (DYPY) at required intervals
- Communicate with clients via face-to-face, phone, or email with sensitivity, as clients often face unplanned medical expenses or pet loss
- Answer client questions, explain policies, and outline available payment options
- Work with the manager on client payment problems or credit issues
- Collaborate with the A/R team to ensure accuracy and meet goals
- Monitor client accounts for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities
- Research and resolve client queries
- Track and resolve outstanding payment issues with hospital clients alongside the Business Manager
- Follow up on collection and allocation of payments
- Assist in resolving problematic financial situations with clients
- Follow established procedures for processing receipts and collections activity
- Assist with monthly generation of client invoices and statements, distribution, and review for billing errors
- Communicate with clients regarding past-due balances at 30/60 days and document interactions
Requirements
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- 6 months of relevant experience (may be met through a combination of education and experience)
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- 2–3 years of experience in cashiering or accounts receivable

Pay
$14.54 – $21.38/hour
Schedule
On-site position. Days vary week to week, working 5 days a week from 3pm to midnight. All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working. Remote or hybrid work is not available for residents of Idaho.
