CTE TEACHER - JROTC

About the role

This position is for the 2026-2027 school year at Emerald Ridge High School. The successful candidate will teach JROTC (Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps).

Responsibilities

• Teach JROTC courses aligned with the curriculum and standards.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that meet state and federal educational guidelines.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback on academic performance.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the educational experience.
• Participate in extracurricular activities and events related to JROTC.
• Maintain accurate records and report grades as required by the school district.

Requirements

• Hold (or be eligible to obtain) a CTE Teaching Certificate with the appropriate 3 years full-time occupational experience-based endorsements.
• Experience in the Airline Industry, Manufacturing Technology Industry, or Electrical and Electronic Industries as outlined in the requirements.
• Pass criminal background fingerprinting with WSP and FBI.
• Successfully complete OSPI required training.
• Must hold or be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED and OSHA Trainer Certifications.

Qualifications

• Current PEA employees with a Continuing or Provisional contract may bid internally.
• External candidates must apply through the Frontline applicant system.
• Provide a minimum of 3 professional references from current and former supervisors, including their email addresses.

Skills

• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and community members.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of military history and principles.
