Role Overview

Performs CT procedures to acquire digital images for diagnostic and treatment purposes under the supervision of a Radiologist. Responsible for planning and executing all CT protocols using advanced technology, ensuring patient safety, proper positioning, and image quality. Maintains knowledge of various CT systems, clinical histories, organ systems, and vascular procedures, including CTA imaging and interventional procedures. Operates CT scanners, power injectors, and computing systems, adhering to safety guidelines and dose‑management protocols that monitor radiation exposure levels. Ensures compliance with established protocols based on clinical criteria, anatomy, and guidelines such as Image Gently. Communicates effectively with patients, ensures proper preparation, and performs post‑processing of images. Demonstrates proficiency in physics and pharmacology relevant to CT imaging, optimizing image quality and patient safety.

Key Duties

  • Perform and interpret CT scans in accordance with protocols and clinical guidelines.
  • Ensure patient safety through proper preparation, positioning, shielding, and technical adjustments.
  • Operate CT equipment, injectors, and software to acquire high‑quality images.
  • Maintain and update protocols based on safety standards and technological advancements.
  • Assist in performing CT interventional and specialized imaging procedures.
  • Monitor dose data, ensuring scans do not exceed safety thresholds, and notify users when needed.
  • Stay current with clinical histories and anatomy to match appropriate protocols.
  • Contribute to a safe, efficient, and patient‑centered imaging environment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate from a Specialty Training Program (required).
  • Technical expertise in operating multiple CT systems and advanced imaging procedures.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, physics, and pharmacology related to CT imaging.
  • Ability to interpret technical factors to enhance scan quality and efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols, dose management, and patient care for various age groups.
  • Experience with interventional procedures and advanced CTA imaging is preferred.
