CT Technologist - Weekend

About the role

The CT Technologist works under the supervision of the Director, Radiology Manager, Associate Director, Lead Technologist, and physicians in Radiology. They perform scans using computed tomography to create cross sections of patients' internal organs for medical analysis and prepare and administer contrast agents to obtain some images. CT Technologists may work in various clinical environments, such as hospitals or diagnostic imaging centers. They actively participate in outstanding customer service and maintain respectful relationships with all.

Responsibilities

• Interpret a physician's instructions.
• Screen patients for safety.
• Explain CT procedures to patients.
• Prepare patients for procedures.
• Select software options and imaging parameters when adjusting a CT scanner.
• View images from an imaging session and keep records of the results.
• Review and complete patient exam and charges within the radiology information system.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

• Completion of a Radiologic Technology program (required).

Work Experience

• 3 years of experience in CT (preferred).

Licenses and Certifications

• Radiography (R) – required upon hire.
• Computed Tomography (CT) – required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – required upon hire.

Travel Requirements

• Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations as needed (required).

• Inputting data, calibrating equipment, answering telephone, speaking clearly, manipulating small items, fine motor skills, knowledge of body mechanics, and CPR.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

• Effective communication skills and ability to interact with patients, staff, visitors, physicians, etc.
• Must work well as a team member.

• Radiation, body fluids, needle sticks, hazardous material.
