About the Role
The CT Tech performs diagnostic CT procedures using ionizing radiation, requiring technical expertise, independent judgment, and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Operates CT equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Ensures proper patient identification and preparation.
- Reviews images for quality and adherence to departmental protocols.
- Maintains radiation safety standards and accurately documents procedures.
- Provides patient education and comfort during procedures.
- Collaborates with care teams and practices infection control.
- Reports equipment issues and assists with contrast media administration.
- Stays updated on technological advancements in CT imaging.
- Mentors students and other technologists.
- Complies with all protocols and participates in ongoing training.
Requirements & Qualifications
- ARRT certification (mandatory).
- BLS certification within 60 days of hire.
- IV competency within 90 days of hire.
- Relevant state licensure.
- Preferred: CT-specific ARRT certification.
- Understanding of anatomy, imaging techniques, and contrast protocols.
- Proficiency with electronic medical systems.
- Strong communication and patient interaction skills.
- Ability to function independently and safely lift, move, and assist patients and equipment.
