About the Role
A Medical Imaging Technologist specializing in CT scans, responsible for performing high-quality imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to protocols.
Responsibilities
- Perform CT imaging procedures following physician specifications.
- Operate scanners, injectors, and related equipment safely and effectively.
- Review images for clarity, repeat scans as needed, and prepare images for interpretation.
- Administer contrast media per protocol, monitor for adverse reactions, and document procedures accurately.
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and addressing concerns.
- Assess patient needs and medical history to ensure appropriate care and education.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to radiation safety guidelines.
- Complete technical notes and promptly send images to PACS.
- Participate in departmental meetings and maintain productivity standards.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiography program or equivalent.
- Less than 1 year of radiologic technologist experience.
- Proficiency in CT software and equipment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to adapt scans for patients of all ages.
Qualifications
- BLS certification.
- State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist and in CT.
- Additional certifications (e.g., Nuclear Medicine Tech) preferred.
Skills
- Technical proficiency with CT technology.
- Expertise in patient care and effective communication.
- Attention to detail.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform activities such as kneeling, bending, and CPR as needed.
