The CT Technologist performs high-quality imaging procedures in a collaborative healthcare environment, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Responsibilities include operating imaging equipment independently, adjusting techniques to optimize diagnostic quality while minimizing radiation exposure (ALARA), and maintaining equipment and rooms per infection control standards. They obtain clinical histories, verify orders, explain procedures using AIDET, and address patient questions to reduce anxiety. Additional duties involve administering contrast via venipuncture, positioning patients, reviewing images for diagnostic acceptability, and documenting procedures accurately in RIS/PACS systems. Technologists monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, support department workflows, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
