About the role
The CT Technologist delivers high-quality, safe imaging services, supporting patient care at WMCG. They are a respected member of a collaborative healthcare team, responsible for performing CT procedures following departmental guidelines, capturing diagnostic images, and maintaining equipment hygiene and safety.
Responsibilities
- Operating imaging/radiographic equipment independently, adjusting techniques to optimize diagnostic quality while minimizing radiation exposure (ALARA).
- Preparing patients, explaining procedures using AIDET, and ensuring comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the process.
- Administering contrast agents, positioning patients, and applying shielding as needed.
- Reviewing images for diagnostic quality, repeating scans when necessary, and documenting procedures accurately in RIS/PACS.
- Monitoring patient conditions, responding to emergencies, and maintaining equipment and work areas in compliance with infection control protocols.
- Supporting department workflows, coordinating with team members, and handling clerical and regulatory tasks.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- At least 1 year of radiology experience.
- Certifications: ARRT - R (Radiography), ARRT - CT, and BLS (American Heart Association).
