The CT Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality CT procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort while adhering to department protocols. They operate imaging equipment independently, adjust techniques to optimize diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure, and maintain cleanliness and equipment functionality. The role includes obtaining patient history, explaining procedures, and providing age-appropriate care using AIDET communication principles. Technologists verify orders, prepare patients for exams, administer contrast when needed, and review images for diagnostic quality. They accurately document procedures in RIS/PACS and respond to emergencies, supporting department operations. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program Minimum 1 year radiology experience ARRT - R (Radiography) and ARRT - CT certifications BLS certification from the American Heart Association Skills & Qualifications Technical proficiency in CT imaging Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong patient care and communication skills Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures Organizational skills for workflow management Key Duties Perform CT scans following safety and quality standards Maintain equipment and infection control practices Obtain and verify clinical information Explain procedures and ensure patient comfort Document accurately and support departmental operations Respond to emergencies and monitor patient conditions Support compliance and departmental workflows
