About the role
We are looking for a Client Service Representative to join a busy 3-doctor veterinary practice at our Mountain Lore location in Plantsville, CT. In this role, you will be an essential part of the client experience, helping to keep the front desk running smoothly while managing schedules efficiently, coordinating appointments, and providing exceptional service to our clients and their pets. As the first point of contact for our clients, you will play a vital role in creating a warm, welcoming, and compassionate experience for both pets and the people who love them.
Your professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail will help ensure every client feels supported from the moment they enter our waiting room through every step of their visit. You will provide exceptional client service, answer phones, schedule appointments, and help facilitate clear communication between our clients and medical team to ensure smooth and efficient hospital operations.
The ideal candidate will remain calm and compassionate during emotional or stressful situations, maintain accuracy and organization when managing schedules, and be comfortable safely handling patients on a leash or in a carrier when needed. We value collaboration and encourage every team member to speak up, share ideas, and contribute to the success of the hospital. Experience with EzyVet is a plus but not required.
Schedule
This is a full-time position: 3 days a week / 10-hour shifts (8:15am-6pm). Thursday and Friday availability is a must. Saturday rotation and holidays are required.
Pay
$19.00-$20.00 an hour depending on experience.

Requirements
- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a veterinary setting, is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology or a willingness to learn.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and staff.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a warm, friendly, and empathetic approach to clients and their pets.
- Ability to handle challenging client situations with tact, patience, and understanding.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, and other staff members to ensure smooth clinic operations.
- Flexibility to assist with other duties as needed and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a strong work ethic and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, especially in high-stress or emotional situations.
- Willingness to continue learning and stay updated on best practices in client service and veterinary care.
