About the Role
The Georgia Department of Public Health, Coastal Health District, is seeking a WIC Call Center Representative to provide phone management for the WIC Nutrition Program. This position is based in Brunswick but will cover WIC calls for all 8 counties in the district.
Responsibilities
- Answer phones, schedule new WIC appointments, and reschedule current appointments
- Provide directions and general information to persons seeking information for the WIC program
- Maintain appointment reminder system
- Assure WIC in-reach is conducted using monthly WIC reports
- Complete WIC Nutrition Assistant modules to assist with nutrition education
- Receive, screen and direct telephone communications
- Open, sort and route incoming mail, answer correspondence, and prepare outgoing mail
- Proofread or verify existing documents, reports, mathematical figures, etc. to ensure accuracy
- Provide general clerical support to the District WIC program, including data entry/maintenance, distributing documents and materials, maintaining record-keeping and filing systems
- Provide direction, instruction, and guidance to WIC participants via telephone
- Assist internal and external customers with maneuvering through WIC processes
- Adhere to WIC processing standards and guidelines
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience communicating information in a customer service setting
Requirements
- Must be very detail oriented
- Must possess strong customer service skills
- All Coastal Health District, County Health Department employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency and may be called on to participate in events including staffing a shelter, Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC), and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD), whether during or outside regular work hours
- Selected applicants will be subject to criminal background check/fingerprinting, reference checks, and immunizations required
- May be subject to pre-employment drug screen
