Responsibilities
- Cook up and execute crude oil movements, encompassing marine and terminal operations.
- Submit vessel nominations and coordinate with traders, counterparties, and internal teams.
- Keep tabs on cargo loading, discharging, transfers, and inventory movements to meet contractual obligations.
- Communicate daily with traders, counterparties, pipeline schedulers, terminals, and shipping teams to tackle operational issues.
- Check and validate shipping documents like Bills of Lading, Certificate of Origin, Certificate of Quality/Quantity, Cargo Manifest, and others.
- Calculate and confirm final delivered quantities with counterparties and address discrepancies in quantity or quality.
- Affirm that all trade details, nominations, movements, and inventory records are accurately documented in the company's operations systems.
- Review and approve operational invoices, including freight, shipping claims, terminal fees, and other logistics-related expenses.
- Support trade settlements by ensuring operational data needed for invoicing and financial settlement.
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure timely month-end close activities.
- Spot opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, minimize transportation costs, and optimize logistics performance.
- Back up other operators and coordinate with internal groups to complete all necessary tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field.
- 4+ years of commodities scheduling experience.
- 2+ years of waterborne scheduling experience.
- Refinery planning and/or operations experience is a plus.
- A strong grasp of contracts and solid knowledge of Incoterms.
- Adeptness in international trade finance, prior experience with financial instruments, letters of credit, payment undertakings, and credit risk.
- Proficiency in computers, particularly Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships and fostering a team spirit.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities, especially in clear and concise email communications.
- Ability to work independently.
- Occasional travel may be required.
