Crew Liaison
Position Summary
ATLAS Hope aims to provide support to adult men, ages 25 and older, who have experienced trauma, violence, and involvement in the criminal legal system. Crew Liaisons supervise, support, and inspire participants in transitional employment, using a trauma-informed and restorative justice approach.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitate, supervise, and support transitional workers in work experience
- Supervise and support a work crew of 5-10 transitional workers in the performance of a variety of low-barrier tasks and work sites
- Maintain open communication with the Crew Manager regarding crew locations and activities
- Develop individualized goals and tasks to enhance workers' skills and experiences
- In collaboration with the Crew Manager, develop work schedules and responsibilities, ensuring safety and efficiency
- Ensure safety protocols are followed, monitor worksites for hazardous conditions, and monitor workers for appropriate use of tools and materials
- Ensure work vehicles are fully equipped with necessary work and safety equipment
- Model safe and positive workplace behavior and work readiness skills
- Provide coaching and guidance on positive work behaviors, deliver constructive correction when necessary
- Transport transitional workers to and from job sites in a company vehicle, adhere to safety protocols
- Represent the program to community members and employers during the work experience, serve as primary liaison with worksite personnel
- Complete the Daily Feedback tool accurately and timely, provide constructive feedback to transitional workers
- Utilize trauma-informed practices to support participants, establish constructive relationships with participants as a positive role model
- Participate in collaborative meetings to assess participant progress and plan services, ensure relevant information is shared with the team to aid in service planning
- Participate in regular, ongoing professional development opportunities including trainings, skill practice, and ongoing coaching and feedback
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- New York State Driver's License required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Skilled communicator who can liaise interdepartmentally and with community partners and stakeholders
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Office 365
- Ability to work independently and on a team
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history preferred
- Experience working with the community in the South Bronx a plus
- Experience and/or desire to work with a culturally diverse population
