Creative Arts Therapist (Per Diem)

About the role

This field position involves providing creative arts therapy services within Nassau and Queens counties, focusing on hospice and palliative care to address physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients, caregivers, and bereaved individuals.

Responsibilities

• Accept, triage, and follow-up on referrals for creative arts therapy services.
• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments during initial visits and update as needed.
• Implement various creative arts therapy interventions tailored to client needs.
• Follow professional and regulatory procedures for home and facility-based care, including office counseling and group sessions.
• Provide clinical documentation adhering to agency standards.
• Support clinical training, supervision of interns, and contribute to programming, research, and outreach efforts to promote the organization’s mission and growth.

Qualifications & Skills

• Licensed or practicing under permit in NY in creative arts therapy, with national certification in music therapy through the Certification Board for Music Therapists.
• Minimum of one year experience in hospice, palliative care, or acute medical settings (internship hours may be considered).
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
