Court Security Deputy Sheriff

Responsibilities

• The care, custody, control and movement of prisoners within the Courtroom and Courthouse.
• Provide security in the Courthouse.
• Courtroom activity coordination.
• Requesting movement of prisoners.
• Verifying warrants.
• Answering/direction calls from the general public.
• Inspecting prisoners for safety and wellbeing.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduation from High school or an equivalent program.
• Certification from a Department of Law Enforcement Police Standards and Training Commission.
• Valid Florida driver’s license.

• Minimum Education and Training: Graduation from High school or an equivalent program.
• Minimum Qualifications and Standards: Certification from a Department of Law Enforcement Police Standards and Training Commission.

Schedule

• Work conditions are primarily of an indoor nature.
• Frequent stooping and bending required, as well as manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and the ability to grasp objects.
• Requires the ability to see, hear, and speak.
• Requires the ability to walk for extended periods of time.
