County Social Services Aide 1 (Local Government) - Pike County C&Y

About the role

This position provides support to children, youth, and families through scheduled appointments, daily assistance, and basic clerical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Client Transport: Escort clients to medical, dental, foster care, court, and recreation appointments
• Basic Assistance: Provide simple information to clients and community members
• Daily Support: Help clients and families with routine tasks such as home care, meal planning, and budgeting
• Item Delivery: Pick up and deliver clothing, equipment, and other items as needed
• Clerical Duties: Complete tasks such as mail handling, filing, answering calls, typing, and message relay
• Record Support: Assist with maintaining case files including reviews, data entry, and notes

Schedule

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
• Telework is not available for this position

Requirements

• Graduation from high school; or any equivalent combination of training and experience
• Must meet the PA residency requirement
• Must be able to perform essential job functions
• Must pass a background investigation
• A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening
• Must comply with the Child Protective Services Law, including submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports (PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance)
