COST ESTIMATOR FOR SPECIALTY FOUNDRY EQUIPMENT

About the role

Vulcan Engineering Co. is seeking an Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and control systems, experience in a design, manufacturing, and installation environment, and a 2-year technical degree. Excellent communication skills are essential as the Estimator will interact with various departments including Sales Engineers, Project Managers, Design Engineers, Vendors, and Company Management.

Responsibilities

• Interact with Sales, Project Management, and Design Engineers to develop cost estimates
• Use knowledge of mechanical and control systems to ensure accuracy in estimates
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Prepare takeoffs from concept and historical mechanical drawings using AutoCAD
• Ensure compliance with company standards and regulations

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of estimating experience in a design, manufacture, and installation environment
• Minimum of a 2-year technical degree
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD for reading, interpreting, and preparing takeoffs of mechanical drawings

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and control systems understanding
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and accuracy in calculations

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Knowledge of AutoCAD for drawing interpretation and takeoff preparation
• Understanding of mechanical and control systems
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Pay

Salary range: $50,000 - $70,000 per year

Schedule

Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
