About the role

The Corrections Community Center Monitor supports reentrants, maintains order, and ensures daily operations run smoothly at the York Community Corrections Center. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, communication, and community safety.

Responsibilities

• Safety Oversight: Observe reentrants, monitor behavior, and conduct counts to maintain secure operations.
• Search Procedures: Inspect living areas, review property, and perform scheduled and unscheduled searches for contraband.
• Daily Monitoring: Track movement, maintain logs, and manage sign‑in and sign‑out activities for reentrants and visitors.
• Orientation Duties: Provide guidance on rules, assign rooms, explain available services, and assist with housekeeping duties.
• Compliance Checks: Perform breathalyzer tests, complete destination checks, and document observations for reports.
• Community Interaction: Assist visitors, respond to concerns, and support communication with law‑enforcement agencies.

Requirements

• Willing and able to work in York, York County, Pennsylvania.
• Ability to work different shifts or irregular scheduled hours.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.
• Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Preferred qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience performing public safety or security work, including protection of persons/property and enforcement of rules, regulations, and laws.
• One (1) year of experience providing direction or guidance to individuals, such as lead worker, supervisor, or military roles.

Schedule

Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week. Community Corrections Centers operate three work shifts covering the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Work hours will include different shifts or irregular hours. Telework is not available.

Pay
