About the role

As a Correctional Industries Sales and Marketing Representative with the Department of Corrections (DOC), you take on a fast-moving role that brings correctional industry products to new audiences across the state. You meet customers, identify their needs, and introduce products that spark interest and build new business. You represent Correctional Industries at events, presentations, and on-site visits that highlight the value of these services.

Responsibilities

This position promotes correctional industry products, supports customer relationships, and assists with sales and marketing activities across an assigned territory. As a Correctional Industries Sales and Marketing Representative, you will perform the following duties:

  • Customer Outreach: Establish contacts with officials, agencies, schools, and local entities to promote prison-made products and services
  • Product Promotion: Conduct presentations, gather customer needs, and discuss future product demands
  • Event Representation: Attend conferences and distribute catalogs, samples, brochures, and other product information
  • Record Keeping: Prepare reports, maintain customer records, and submit activity updates to the central office
  • Shop Coordination: Visit shops to stay familiar with product lines and act as liaison between customers and facilities
  • Sales Support: Respond to inquiries, prepare price quotes, and assist in developing marketing efforts for new and existing products and services

Qualifications

The minimum experience and training requirements for this position include one year of professional sales experience in a manufacturing or service-oriented production operation, and a bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, business administration, or a closely related area; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special requirements for this position include possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent, successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA, and the ability to perform essential job functions. You must also pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Schedule

This is a full-time employment position, with 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework is not an option for this position.

Pay

The starting salary for this position may be non-negotiable.
