About the role

The Nelson Mullins Venture Capital and Technology Team advises companies, founders, management teams, and investors in entrepreneurial ventures, in addition to representing emerging and growth stage companies in corporate and financing matters. The work covers both legal and business needs at every stage of growth, from formation and early funding to employment, tax, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, including mergers and acquisitions transactions from formation through exit.

Responsibilities

• Advise companies, founders, management teams, and investors in entrepreneurial ventures
• Represent emerging and growth stage companies in corporate and financing matters
• Cover legal and business needs at every stage of growth, from formation and early funding to employment, tax, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, including mergers and acquisitions transactions from formation through exit

Requirements

• 2 to 5 years of meaningful corporate transactional experience in a law firm setting
• Emerging company and venture capital experience is strongly preferred

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable in the areas of corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, securities, and general corporate matters
• Strong writing, analytical, and communications skills
• Excelling academically
• Admitted to and in good standing with the Illinois bar

Pay

In Illinois, the salary/wage range is $215,000 - $270,000 annually. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for performance bonuses and benefits such as healthcare, retirement plans, and paid time off.
